Transforming Lives, Building Futures, Strengthening Communities: Developing our Greatest Natural Resource... YOUTH

For over thirty-five years, ACYR has equipped young people with academic, vocational, and social skills by offering opportunities to claim their individual potential, secure their economic future and transition to the roles required of responsible adulthood. ACYR is recognized locally and nationally for providing programs of high quality and accountability, specifically designed to address the education and workforce development needs of young people who have dropped out of school or whose life circumstances make them at risk of not completing high school. Over 91% of program participants either remain in school, complete high school or its equivalent, or enter postsecondary education and/or employment. ACYR graduates annually earn over $2.5 million, contributing to a robust and vital community.

I was a volunteer at ACYR for nearly 4 months and had a wonderful experience. I spent 8-10 hours a week working with young adults on a pharmacy technician program, which was a partnership between the City of Phoenix, Phoenix College, CVS and ACYR. The staff was great and the students were even better. It was great working with under-served youth and young adults who were striving to make a difference in their lives. Additionally, it's an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in the workforce development field, which is and will continue to be a valuable industry in the foreseeable future.
