Mission Statement
Education for Tomorrow Alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational organization that has been creating meaningful volunteer opportunities to stimulate education and enhance career awareness since 1989. Our vision is to become a national model for meaningful community involvement in education and to continue providing progressive educational programs and volunteer opportunities.
Description
EfTA offers programs that are facilitated by professionals serving as volunteer judges, speakers, and mentors.
SCI://TECH - Hundreds of K-12 youth compete for recognition, cash prizes and scholarships, and advancement to larger competitions. Volunteers from the community judge entries and provide valuable feedback and encouragement in a variety of categories.
STUDENT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM - High school juniors and seniors spend 80 houus working unpaid at a local business within their chosen profession, learning the challenges and rewards first-hand. Program culminates in a half-day conference and luncheon with all participating students and mentors.
CHOICES - 8th grade students explore the relationship between choices and consequences, and learn how responsible choices increase their life options in this interactive program proven to increase student high-school retention.
EfTA also maintains a list of speakers for occasions when local schools seek presentations on specific industries and career tracks.
