Mission Statement

The Samaritan Women is a transitional, residential program for young women, ages 12-18, who need alternative accommodations and a more structured living environment. Our residents are in recovery from issues of addiction, abuse, self-injury, pregnancy, personal crisis, or other behavioral issues. We are an ecumenical Christian-based program that encourages young women in the rebuilding of their lives through academic continuation, personal and group counseling, community, service, and a foundation of faith.

Description

The Samaritan Women was formed in 2007 following the acquisition of an estate that includes two 19th and 20th Century historically-recognized homes and over 20 acres of environmentally-protected land in the Baltimore City area.

We expect to open our facility for residents in spring 2009. The focus of our efforts in 2008 is historic restoration and renovation of the homes and surrounding property, program development and fund-raising.

We are a non-government organization. Our program will be supported by resident fees, corporate sponsorship, grants, and individual giving support.
