HREA envisions peaceable, just and democratic societies based on human rights and the rule of law in which rights-holders are empowered to claim their human rights and duty-bearers have the capacity to respect, protect and fulfil them.
HREA aims to empower rights-holders, in particular children, youth and women, to claim their human rights and duty-bearers (governments, government officials, local authorities) to fulfil their human rights obligations through training and capacity-building activities.
HREA is an independent, impartial, non-governmental and not-for-profit organization. HREA Board and staff are committed to the highest standards of professionalism, accountability and transparency.
HREA is an international non-governmental and non-profit organization that supports human rights education; the training of human rights defenders and professional groups; and the development of educational materials and programming. HREA is dedicated to quality education and training to promote understanding, attitudes and actions to protect human rights, and to foster the development of peaceable, free and just communities.
HREA works with individuals, non-governmental organizations, inter-governmental organizations and governments interested in implementing human rights education programs.
