Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care

Description

A Continuum of Care (CoC) is a federally-mandated local planning body that coordinates housing and services for homeless families and individuals. A CoC is made up of organizations and individuals that work together to develop long and short-term strategic plans to ending homelessness in their area. The CoC brings many community partners together to discuss trends in homelessness and to design a system to effectively and efficiently provide services for the needs of the homeless population.

The Fredericksburg Regional Continuum of Care (CoC) services all of Planning District 16, covering the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. The CoC began in the 1990s as a collective of homeless services providers interested in working together toward ending homelessness in the Fredericksburg region. Over the years, the CoC has formalized into a coordinated network of over 40 agencies who work together on the initiative to end homelessness in our region.
