Description
Mill Valley is a full service general law city. Incorporated in 1900, it operates under a Council-Manager form of government. Five City Council members are elected at large.
Mill Valley, a suburban community located ten miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, is one of eleven cities in Marin County. Its population is approximately 14,000, covering a five square mile area. It has a larger service population covering several unincorporated communities. Well known for its art and film festivals as well as its mountain biking and hiking trails, Mill Valley's location at the foot of Mt. Tamalpais makes it a desirable place to live, work and play.
