Services

Cogswell Hall integrates basic housing with supportive services that builds community and maximizes an individuals potential. Residents enjoy a private room while sharing in family style meals and community life.

Cogswell Hall is a unique living environment where disabled and economically disadvantaged adults find a sense of family and community and the opportunity to work with the Supportive Services staff to restore a sense of security and well-being while averting crises.

This resident-friendly facility is home to 41 men and women who enjoy meals together in the dining room, relax in the family room, and participate in programs and activities such as budgeting, health education, book club, cooking, art therapy and bingo.

On-site Supportive Services staff members work in collaboration with community based support systems to ensure that residents receive the necessary services to remain stable in housing and improve their lives. This collaboration helps eliminate unnecessary and costly duplication of community services.

Cogswell Hall builds community through activities which value the voice of residents, such as:

  • Resident Circle, a monthly resident meeting, is a forum that encourages and empowers individuals to set standards for living together and resolve issues coming from sharing common space.
  • Community Meal is a monthly opportunity for all residents to join together and celebrate birthdays and other important occasions.
