Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We, the member organizations of the Tri-State Coalition for Responsible Investment, recognize that "economic life raises social and moral questions for each of us and for society as a whole." (Economic Justice for All, US Catholic Bishops Pastoral Letter, 1986). In making decisions about managing resources and investments, we view the local and global economies not only in terms of production and distribution, but also by their effects on the environment and the dignity of the human person.
We use our resources to work for justice in and through economic structures on behalf of the earth and her people. As religious investors we take seriously our responsibility as shareholders to hold our companies accountable to social and ethical concerns. We work to raise the economic literacy of ourselves, our constituents and other stakeholders as we participate in strategies for systemic change.
The Tri-State Coalition for Responsible Investment (CRI) is an alliance of Roman Catholic institutional investors primarily located throughout the New York metropolitan area. Our members utilize their power as shareholders to hold corporations accountable to social and environmental concerns. In making decisions about managing resources and investments, Coalition members view local and global economies not only in terms of production and distribution, but also by their effects on the environment and the dignity of the human person. As religious investors, Coalition members take seriously their responsibility as shareholders to engage companies on a number of issues including ecological concerns, human rights, international health, international and domestic debt, equality and labor concerns, and militarism and violence.
As the largest regional member of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR), the Tri-State Coalition for Responsible Investment has been successfully working for nearly 40 years with our colleagues, who include denominations, rabbinical pension funds, foundations, and public and private pension funds on various campaigns to bring justice to the world and all her inhabitants. Our history and success demonstrates that utilizing our power as stakeholders has sparked a momentum that has engaged other sectors of society beyond religious institutions in involvement for social change.
