The GREATER MIAMI YOUTH CHAMBER, INC. is organized to achieve the objectives of: COMMUNITY SECTOR: To aid parents; our Government; and Society with the education of our youth ages 10-21 yrs. Old. To create an upbringing in which our kids start assuming responsibility for their own mistakes and to give them the opportunity to become better citizens and supporters of their environment by teaching them new values. To strengthen our youth's understanding and knowledge of family, by recognizing it as the backbone of society. To promote Non-secular Moral behavior amongst our youth, helping them to create an atmosphere which will be safer for themselves as well as their peers. To induce the desire to help and support others who are less fortunate. To increase their knowledge and develop better study habits for their future endeavors. To increase their awareness of illegal drugs, alcoholism, negative sexual behavior, and pier pressure; therefore, keeping them from becoming part of today's statistics, and preventing crime while promoting the community's welfare. To introduce our youth to the business sector, helping them achieve their academic and career goals; providing incentives to keep them motivated to finish High School; building their self-esteem; and getting them ready for the workforce by helping them build their resume and getting them in contact with the local colleges and universities. IN THE BUSINESS SECTOR: To promote business and community growth and development; to promote economic programs designed to strengthen and expand the income potential of all business within the trade are; promoting programs of civic, social and cultural nature which are designed to increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community; discovering and correcting abuses which prevent the promotion of business expansion and community growth. Generally speaking; the Greater Miami Youth Chamber, Inc. has been established to advance the general welfare and prosperity of our population in the Miami-Dade area, and to help member businesses in the area grow and prosper. To achieve these overall goals, particular attention and emphasis shall be given to the economic, civic, commercial, cultural, industrial and educational interests of the people and businesses located in the area. However, the GMYC shall not endorse political candidates for elective office nor shall it contribute monetarily to any political cause. Nothing herein shall prohibit the GMYC from providing for the free exchange of political ideas at its meetings or in its publications. It shall be the general policy of the GMYC to do business only with its members. This policy may be waived from time to time by the Board if there are exceptional circumstances present.
