Description

Reintegration & Healing for Military Veterans and Their Families

This vision will commence in Wellsville , NY -a quaint, rural village
of aprox. 6,000 in Upstate NY (90 miles south of Rochester/Buffalo;
300 miles north of NYC.)

There is a well-respected hospital with a Veterans Clinic in the village.

Alfred State College and Alfred University are close, with a Tech.
annex in Wellsville .

Wellsville is safe, clean, comforting, quiet-conducive to balance.

Reconditioning seven large houses within the village grid will
initially provide housing and office space for 10-20 veteran
residents.

Intention:
Recondition original houses with "True Green" methods, (ideally, by
Veteran led contractors and crew).

Involvement in the construction
aspects of this project will provide marketable skills for
participants. In the future, capably trained construction crew members will form their own construction company.

Purchase other properties for housing/organization space; consider
eventual transference of ownership to veterans by contract/mortgage.

Utilize currently owned commercial space for occupational projects.

Stimulate research and development, and generate income through
marketable, eco-friendly products/services.

Enlist alternative healing methods (counseling, massage, energy work,
art/movement/music, acupuncture, etc.) for veterans, their partners,
and family members on a consistent basis.

Host seminars and workshops to teach methods of care to veterans , so they are able to care for one another.

When others are in need, it is
alleviated by helping another overcome their suffering. It is
critical to provide the "tools" for assuaging the demons of combat.

By providing a safe environment, with guidance toward education and occupation, we provide young men and women the chance to discover their passions and capabilities. The WELLsville Veterans Project them becomes sustained by the participants.

Living in close proximity to others who have experienced the chaos of War alleviates the aloneness that Veterans feel when they leave the structure and familiarity of military life.

Welcoming the Warrior all the way Home
