Mission Statement

S.A.F.E. was established in 1993 by Carroll "Spyke" Henry. As a life-long resident of the District of Columbia, Mr. Henry recognized the need to provide youth with supervised, productive and engaging activities. Mr. Henry’s love of tennis, coupled with the absence of quality and affordable tennis programs for inner city DC youth led to the founding of S.A.F.E.

Under the leadership of Mr. Henry, current Executive Director, S.A.F.E. has successfully upheld its mission for the past 16 years. Through the development and implementation of organized athletic and mentoring activities, S.A.F.E. has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of youth in the District.

•Supplement programs with individualized mentoring
•Involve youth in structured after-school and summer activities
