Mission Statement

Jackson House is an interfaith community crisis center which provides short-term emergency assistance for basic needs - food, clothing, shelter (limited rental assistance), medicine - without regard to race, creed, gender or nationality - and without imposing our values or beliefs upon those we serve.

Description

Jackson House (Community Crisis Intervention Services, Inc.) opened in 1978 to meet basic emergency needs of those in crisis and for those who are chronically in poverty. Instead of insisting that they fit into our "box" of services, JH tries to make services fit each individual situation. Through the use of volunteers (approx 400/month), wise food purchasing (each dollar buys three dollars in food) our overhead (we own all of our buildings) is kept very low so that all donations reach the needy.
