DFI is committed to providing education on the use of the newest technology in creating digital media content, whether video, animation, or games. Working with local companies, educational institutions and national sponsors, DFI creates educational opportunities for building teams and creating exciting new content.

Description

While DFI activities run throughout the year, its core event is the annual Duke City Shootout, one of the world's first digital filmmaking competitions, which takes seven short films from script to screen in seven days. Now in its eighth year, the Shootout selects seven screenwriters to direct their short scripts, arranging for production team including cast and crew.

In addition to the Shootout, DFI provides educational opportunities such as a film production bootcamp, special workshops and game design clinics.
