Our mission is to treat each victim as an individual always remembering that each case is unique; To involve crime victims and the community in a positive process that assists to diminish the devastating impact of crime.
Description
The Clackamas County District Attorney's Office - Victim Assistance Program is currently accepting applications for their Volunteer Victim Advocate training class. Both male and female applicants are encouraged.
A volunteer advocate provides a victim the with the gifts of:
*Crisis Intervention
*Referrals for counseling, social services and other basis needs.
*Assistance in applying for Crime Victims Compensation
*Victims Rights information
*Accompaniment to meetings with law enforcement and court
*Information regarding case status
The program asks that an advocate be a minimum of 21 years of age, possess the ability to work effectively with diversity and maintain confidentiality, have a strong moral character, have no record of criminal conduct and a possess a valid driver's license with a vehicle.
