The California Human Development exists to create paths and opportunity for those seeking greater self-sufficiency, independence and dignity through education, training, criminal justice alternatives, housing and other services.

Description

California Human Development has been creating opportunities for farm workers and other low income individuals through employment assistance, training, and support services.

The Rural AmeriCorps Partnership Program provides bilingual tutors to elementary schools to assist in increasing the English Language Arts skills of English Language Learners. Members tutor the students and serve as a bridge between the home and the school resulting in better communication between the two and increased academic skills for the student. AmeriCorps members are proud to make a difference in so many families and they live up to their motto of Getting Things Done.
