Mission Statement

The Skyland Mission The mission of Skyland Community High School is to create a learning community dedicated to educating one student at a time. This starts by giving kids the opportunity to learn in a place where people know each other well and treat each other with respect. It continues by designing a personalized learning program for each student individually, providing real-world opportunities to connect students to their learning, and expecting them to find authentic, meaningful ways to show what they have learned. And it culminates in graduating self-directed learners armed with the skills and experiences to succeed in college and beyond.

Description

Skyland Community High School is a charter school with a 501 (c) 3 designation. We are located in central Denver and the majority of our students (90%) are identified as high-risk. Skyland engages students in a highly personalized college preparatory curriculum that involves traditional classes, real world projects, college classes, internships, computer based learning and other learning activities. Specifically, what sets Skyland apart is that all of our students have real world internships that are connected to individualized learning plans.
