The East Troy Electric Railroad Museum, Inc. was founded for the purpose of preserving the history of Electric Railroading in Wisconsin and more recently to assure the continued long term existence of the last vestage of The Milwaukee Electric Railway and Light Company as an example of the now extinct Electric Trolley and Interurban Railways that were once a vital part of daily life throughout Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest.
We are a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization preserving and operating the railway line between the Villages of East Troy & Mukwonago in Southeastern Wisconsin as a living example of a traditional Trolley and Interurban Railway Line of the type that was part of everyday life from the 1890's through the first half of the Twentieth Century. To provide a family orientated educational, historical, and entertaining situation for the general public to experience.
