Mission Statement

Texas Parks and Wildlife Mission Statement- To manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations World Birding Center Mission Statement- The World Birding Center will work to protect native habitat while increasing the understanding and appreciation of the birds and wildlife. Our project is a global model for conservation and ecotourism development.

Description

See a variety of wildlife at all three State Park World Birding Center sites. All three sites offer guided nature tours, nature trails through native habitat, butterfly gardens and gift shops.

Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park in Mission has 10+ feeding stations, 3 bird blinds, 3 observation decks and two story wheelchair accessible observation tower make seeing wildlife up close easy. Bike rentals and tram service provide visitors with a variety of ways to enjoy the park. A bilingual (English/Spanish) exhibit hall and cafe offer something for everyone.

Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco has boardwalks and decks overlooking the restored wetlands. The facility encompasses approximately 200 acres of restored wetlands and thorn-scrub forest along with seven ponds to attract a variety of wildlife.

Resaca De La Palma in Brownsville will be Texas' newest state park when it opens later this summer. When it is open it will have observation decks, boardwalks and hiking trails as well as a bilingual exhibit hall.
