Mission Statement

The mission of the Rape Crisis Center is to provide support and information to victims of rape and child sexual abuse and their families and to provide community education and sexual assault prevention programs for all ages.

Description

The Rape Crisis Center provides 24-hour support and information to victims of sexual assault and their family, friends, and significant others. Crisis intervention services include the 24-hour crisis line, 24-hour hospital accompaniment for forensic exams, advocacy and collaboration with area law enforcement, district attorney's office, and community resources, in-person crisis intervention counseling, legal advocacy, and court accompaniment. All of these services are free of charge.

The Rape Crisis Center also conducts a variety of prevention programs designed to raise awareness about sexual assault and teach others how to prevent this crime. Prevention programs are presented in local schools, as well as to community groups, groups of professionals, parents, and others, and are designed for participants of all ages. Prevention programs include self-defense, internet safety, Good Touch Bad Touch, sexual assault awareness, and many others.
