Mission Statement

The Community School of the Arts (CSA) seeks to be a significant resource for high quality community arts education. Its misison is to provide residents of all ages and ability levels with professional instruction in the performing and visual arts. CSA is interdisciplinary and education based, linking individuals in the greater communities of Eastern Connecticut with the artistic and performance resources of the University.

Description

The Community School of the Arts offers music, art and theater lessons, classes, ensembles, and Summer School of the Arts programming. With over 75 Teaching Artists on staff, our students have access to a wealth of experience and specialized instruction. We believe that arts instruction aids in the development of patience, dedication, perserverence, and goal setting. We seek to develop the whole person, and believe that continuing arts learning promotes engagement, community investment, personal joy and a sense of purpose. We service over 1100 students a year, ranging in age from 18 months to seniors.
