Mission Statement

The mission of the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge is to raise funds for the Jimmy Fund of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. At the heart of our fundraising efforts is our diverse bike-a-thon, which crosses the state of Massachusetts. To acheive our goal, we need:? Cyclists? Volunteers? Corporate sponsors? Individual donors. Since its inception in 1980, the PMC has been increasingly successful in mobilizing all four groups. We hope to recruit even more to our cause. Our ultimate goal is to fund the Dana-Farber's doctors and researchers in their pursuit of a cure for cancer.

Description

The Pan-Massachusetts Challenge (PMC) is New Englandâ  s oldest and the nationâ  s most successful bicycling fundraiser. Riders and their sponsors have contributed more than $102 million to the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since the PMC was established in 1980. Funds raised on the weekend represent more than 40% of all money raised annually on behalf of the Jimmy Fund. Riders participating in the two-day rides pledge a minimum of $2,750, while those participating in one-day rides pledge a minimum of $1,750. The rigorous and scenic routes take riders through 52 Massachusetts towns.
