Mission Statement
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service. For over 50 years, American Cancer Society Discovery Shops have helped support the fight against cancer by raising money through the sale of high quality, gently used, donated merchandise. These special items include clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, books, antiques, collectibles, and other household items.

Owned and operated by the American Cancer Society, the Burbank Discovery Shop is one of over 50 Discovery Shops in the West, staffed primarily by volunteers who passionately contribute their time, energy and skills.
Do you love a good treasure hunt? Is decorating your passion? Or is fashion more your forte? Do you enjoy meeting and greeting? Maybe you enjoy surfing the net researching collectibles? How about fixing electronics or refurbishing furniture? Or are you more comfortable "behind the scenes" sorting, pricing and organizing?
Whatever your talent, whatever your interest, whether you have a few hours a week to give or 40 hours ~ we'd love you to join us.
