Mission Statement

The FOBANA TM mission is to "promote and uphold" the interest of the people of Bangladeshi origin living in North America. It works through membership organizations in each state. The main objectives of each organization are to offer assistance and guidance of all people of Bangladeshi origin, fight discrimination and prejudice against Bangladeshis, promote and highlight the rich culture and heritage of Bangladesh and strengthen ties between North America and Bangladesh. Currently there are over 60 member organizations in FOBANA TM and the numbers are growing every year.

Who are we?

FOBANA TM (Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America) is a IRS 501 C(3) tax exempt non-profit corporation registered in Washington DC, USA. The word FOBANA TM is a registered trademark under USPTO. The organization was established in 1978. This is the oldest Bangladeshi organization. The members of our organization are not individuals, they are the Bangladeshi community organizations across North America. That makes us unique in many ways, especially how you can reach thousands of Bangladeshi diasporas through our vast network.

How we operate:

We work throughout the year in many project via our standing committees. Every year we award one of member organizations to host the annual 3-day convention which is also popularly known as FOBANA TM.
