MISSION STATEMENT:

To cultivate musical expression as a vehicle for personal development, and to bring to fruition the full potential of inner city youth, both musically and academically.

Description

ABOUT US:

The Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA) is comprised of two components--the ICYOLA Orchestra and the ICYOLA Academy. These programs serve approximately 150 youth. The ICYOLA Orchestra is comprised of 100 players -- a core of 60 middle and high school students and a complement of approximately 40 others who are college aged and up to age 25. The ICYOLA Academy serves an additional 50 students who receive music and academic instructioni in an afterschool setting. Both programs are provided without cost to participants.
