On January 2, 2009, The Foundation For Caregivers will launch Weigh To Give, America! The goal of this first-ever national "weight-loss-a-thon", which will actually consist of hundreds (hopefully thousands) of local, regional and national campaigns operating under the Weigh To Give™ name, is to help Americans lose 10 million pounds while generating $50 million for charity. The Weigh To Give program will expand internationally in future years.

Weigh To Give was conceived to raise money for the Foundation for Caregivers. My personal experience as caregiver for my wife in her losing battle with cancer www.ffcg.org/board/MyStory.htm opened my eyes to the plight of America's 44 million informal caregivers, profoundly altering the course of my life from high-tech entrepreneur to social entrepreneur. I soon discovered the challenges small charities face raising funds, so I structured Weigh To Give, America! to help others generate funds for their causes, allowing the Foundation to extend its vision.
