Mission Statement

The Project HEAL (Help to Eat, and Live) provides grant funding for those who cannot afford eating disorder treatement, promotes positive body image and self-esteem, and serves as a testament that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible.

Description

The Project HEAL was founded in New York in 2008 by Liana Rosenman and Kristina Saffran, who met in treatment for anorexia. Since its founding, the organization has grown to over 40 chapters across the world and has sent 30 applicants to treatment.

The Project HEAL San Jose chapter was founded in 2013 by Santa Teresa high school student Kristen Pizzo. To date the chapter has raised over $5,000 for the treatment fund through hosting bake sales, a benefit concert, and other events.
