Mission Statement

Founded in 1973 by a collective of Edmonton artists, Latitude 53 is a not-for-profit artist-run centre. We provide a non-coercive environment to assure the freedom of the artist, and give the public access to new art forms. Latitude 53 supports the research and development of new artistic practices and concepts, and encourages experimentation by artists through diverse programming. While experimentation in visual culture is the emphasis of the work that Latitude 53 facilitates, we seek work in a variety of disciplines, to become a locus for experimental culture.

Description

Interested in art, meeting new people, or enjoying Edmonton’s patios? Then you’d be great as a volunteer for Latitude 53’s summer patio series! We are looking for passionate people to fill our many fun and engaging volunteer positions. We could not function without our dedicated volunteers! The Summer Patio Series runs every Thursday evening from 5-9pm, and we offer two volunteer shifts during that time, approximately 2.5hrs each. Latitude 53 is just as dedicated to our volunteers as they are to us. We want to ensure that you will enjoy working as part of our team, that you learn tangible skills and most importantly that you have fun!
