LightsOut Akron is a community-wide Akron pride event during which residents, businesses and governments will turn off their non-essential lighting for one hour. Start building the habit to reduce energy usage and help cut carbon emissions without noticeably affecting your lifestyle!

The world's scientists agree: Global warming is real, and we are just starting to feel the effects. But scientists also say we can curb global warming and its consequences -- if we take bold, comprehensive action now that adds up to an 80 percent cut in carbon emissions by 2050, or 2 percent a year. You can start with a simple step that can lead to a long-term pro-environmental habit.
