Our mission is to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, support and advocacy.
The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is the only national force devoted to solving the mystery of lupus, one of the world's cruelest, most unpredictable, and devastating diseases, while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. An estimated 1.5 million Americans are living with lupus. Lupus is a chronic, autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body (skin, joints, and/or organs inside the body). LFA provide support to those living with lupus and coordinate several awareness and fundraising events in the Philadelphia Tri-State area. Our major events include, Walk to End Lupus Now and Lupus Loop which is one of the oldest walk in the country that brings the individuals with lupus, families and community together to learn how to better live with lupus, and raise critically needed funds and awareness for this unpredictable and life-threatening disease.
