Mission Statement
The R.E.A.C.H. OUT Project’s mission is to create a safe e nvironment in which at-risk youth and family members struggling with behavioral, substance use and/or mental health disorders can receive support.
Description
Program Goals To provide a safe space and learning environment for young people without fear of judgment, misunderstanding, harassment or abuse. To increase social connectedness and create a sense of belonging within supportive peer networks. To provide positive role models and peer influences that can help young people to develop, self acceptance and build self esteem. To prevent the onset or further development of at-risk behaviors triggered by depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. To increase confidence and develop communication and social skills. To empower youth and their families to build personal resilience and improve support-seeking resources and help reduce the stigma associated with behavioral, substance use, and mental health disorders through education and communication.
