College Student in Connecticut FLEXIBLE HOURS Volunteer Opportunity for Madre Latina Inc, Social Media Madre Latina Organization Inc. is a non-profit organization in Waterbury, Connecticut. Our mission is to educate and empower generations of Latinas. Currently we are looking for a social media volunteer to join our team. The appointee for this position will be responsible for creating and carrying our marketing campaigns using various media channel. We will need strong critical thinking and writing skills person in order to design our social media content. This person will manage, creating and publishing original, high quality content on social platforms. Ultimately, this person should be able to act as the voice of our brand and manage all social/community communications What You Will Bring: In-depth working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedln A keen eye for photography and basic video editing Experience with content calendars a plus A self-starter who can work independently and learn quickly Solid communication and copywriting skills Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel What You Will Do: Assist in the creation and management of an ongoing content calendar Stay on top of competitive social media trends and actively share new insights Respond to all comments, DM’s, or general inquiries using good judgment in safeguarding our brand image Assist in the ideation of engaging content Optimize hashtags Be the voice of our brand Develop new ways to engage with our digital community What We Are Looking For: Rising student with a focus in Communication, Marketing, or Social Media Experience managing social media content is a plus Passion for social media/community/Latino community and demonstrated initiative in researching/implementing new practices Familiarity with Facebook Commerce is a plus Good eye for detail and design Excellent verbal and written skills Ability to interpret website traffic and online customer engagement Ability to identify and track relevant community metrics Position Details: This internship would be a part-time paid position, approximately 20 to 25 hours per week The internship will run from NOV TO MAY with an opportunity to extend Blend of remote and on-site work Reports to Yoellie Iglesias, Executive Director Benefits: Opportunity to place this position on your resume or recognitions opportunities Opportunity to help an existing grassroots group Opportunity for a scholarship with Madre Latina Inc Compensation: The position is unpaid Send your Resume to info@madre-latina.com
