Description
The McPherson Museum & Arts Foundation is currently housed in a 6000 square feet 1920s home in residential McPherson. The museum's main floor mostly resembles the home as it may have looked, but the feature exhibit area is on this floor as well. The second floor contains the archives, offices, and exhibits largely on loan from McPherson College: meteorites, ice age fossils, Native American art, and information on the college itself. The third floor has a learning center, pioneer room and a display of artifacts from Africa. It is a very eclectic mix.
Feature exhibits change about once a quarter and include at least one art exhibit per year. Events include a fall festival with hands-on displays for all ages, an open microphone event once a quarter, and a two-evening open house, among other events such as fundraisers.
