Organizational Information: The non-profit Carolina Theatre of Durham, Inc. has made it a priority to offer programs for underserved communities and the theatre is valued as a cornerstone of community life. Our mission is to serve greater Durham and the Triangle region with vibrant, thought-provoking programs of the performing and cinematic arts in our historic treasure, The Carolina Theatre. We strive to contribute to the cultural and economic vitality of downtown Durham and to delight and educate our children and future leaders. Carolina Theatre Star Series Whether you prefer jazz, rock or classical; enjoy watching African dance, ballet or acrobatics; or you just want somewhere you can come and have fun with your kids, The Carolina Theatre has something for you. This series includes our Arts Discovery programs, which are designed to enhance children's school curriculum with the magic of live performances. It features drama, dance, cultural studies and musical theatre and provides instructive programs that help teach students about reading, history, the arts and more! Each year more than 40 events are featured in The Carolina Theatre Star Series.
