Mission Statement

Because of God's Grace (Bogg) Ministries is a non-profit organization that was started to help provide the people of Miamisburg, Ohio and the greater Dayton area, with food, clothing, and other essentials to sustain a healthy lifestyle, and to love people so they know that God loves them.

We want to come alongside people offering loving support and assistance with social, emotional, and physical needs. It's our goal to bring the church out into the world, and not to be restricted to a building. We believe it's time for local churches to unite and become the expression of God's love to those who are hurting and need it most.

Bogg was organized in 2010 as a fixed-site food pantry to provide food to food-insecure families in Miamisburg Ohio. Shortly thereafter, the founders discovered many potential clients couldn’t get to the pantry because they lacked reliable transportation or they didn’t have the money for gas.

Bogg then developed a mobile food pantry to take food to those areas in the community having the greatest need. The organization then:

- Received a used 12’ box truck as a donation;

- Established a mobile pantry relationship with the Dayton Foodbank;

- Partnered with SouthBrook Church to use basement space as a warehouse to store non-perishable food items.

Working with the Dayton Foodbank to identify neighborhoods of greatest need, Bogg has opened, on average, 2 new sites each year. The organization is now up to 9 locations throughout the Dayton area. Volunteers conduct cookouts and games for children during the warm-weather months, and everyone seeks to engage with clients. At Thanksgiving, Bogg provides complete meals to over 500 families.

Bogg is run by two founders supported by a board of directors and an assortment of volunteers. Some people have volunteered for years; others come from businesses or churches and offer their services as a group. Many people first come as part of a group then later return to volunteer individually. In 2014, Bogg’s mission was advanced by people donating almost 8000 volunteer hours.

All food is free to clients. Many clients volunteer to help set up and tear down at each location. Bogg accommodates everyone who wishes to volunteer. The only client requirement is that their income be less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level for their family size (State of Ohio requirement).

Bogg is a non-religious non-profit whose volunteers come from many faiths, but who have each experienced God’s grace in one way or another. Volunteers choose to share this grace by sharing love and food with neighbors in need.

This group does good work distributing groceries to the homeless and log-income families.
