Overview: The Peace Economy Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for a transition from a militarized economy to one that prioritizes peace, equity, and the well-being of communities around the globe, is seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media Coordinator. This individual will play a crucial role in developing and implementing our social media strategy to enhance our online presence, engage with our audience, and promote our advocacy campaigns. The ideal candidate is passionate about social justice and peace, has a strong grasp of social media trends, and possesses excellent communication skills. Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Social Media Strategy: Create a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with our organization's goals, including increasing awareness, fostering community engagement, and supporting fundraising efforts. Content Creation: Generate engaging, informative, and compelling content across multiple social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) including posts, stories, videos, and infographics. Community Management: Actively engage with our community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions. Foster a positive and supportive online environment. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and report on the performance of social media activities using analytics tools. Use insights to inform future social media strategies and content. Campaign Support: Work closely with the team to promote advocacy campaigns, events, and webinars through social media channels. This includes creating campaign-specific content and leveraging hashtags to increase visibility. Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with current technologies, trends in social media, design tools, and applications. Implement new techniques to increase engagement and audience growth. Collaboration: Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure brand consistency and to amplify our message. Collaborate with influencers, partners, and other organizations to extend our reach and impact.

The Peace Economy Project researches military spending, educates about the hazards of an unchecked military-industrial complex and advocates for conversion from a military- to a more stable, peace-based economy. We focus our attention on local weapons manufacturing, arms proliferation and worldwide militarization. We collaborate with other organizations to raise consciousness about where our tax dollars are invested and to encourage others to reinvest in their communities.

Peace Economy Project has been working to reduce federal military spending since 1977. Our focus is transferring military spending to a focus on social services and peace-based economies.
