Mission Statement

Massachusetts Humane Society was started in 2004 with a handful of caring volunteers that wanted to help homeless, neglected and abused animals. Our staff is dedicated, committed and tirelessly engaged to our mission of helping provide exceptional care and proper placement of adoptable companion animals. We have a low-cost spay/neuter assistance program, plus we promote the humane way to handle the feral cat population by the means of trap-neuter-return (TNR). We also promote co-existing with wildlife because of the depletion of their habitat and environment in Massachusetts and other states. We are a section 501 (c) 3, non-profit, tax-deductible, no-kill, volunteer shelter, therefore, we do not receive any direct town, city, state or federal funding. We depend solely on monetary donations from our individual supporters, charitable foundations, fundraisers and the dedicated volunteers. If you would like to help animals and join our team of volunteers, please call us at 1-781-335-1300.
