Description

Sunnyslope Youth Center is located in a low socioeconomic area with a high crime rate that includes: gang activity, graffiti, and drug trafficking. SYC is the only safe place in this area where at-risk-youth can gather on a daily basis and have an opportunity to participate in fun, safe and healthy activities. The SYC, through offering a positive place to participate provides gang prevention programs, substance abuse prevention programs, healthy living and positive youth mentoring. Staff works to promote educational, physical recreational activities and outdoor sports programs for the youth and families in the Sunnyslope Community.
