The Burke Museum cares for and shares natural and cultural collections so all people can learn, be inspired, generate knowledge, feel joy, and heal.
The Burke is a research- and collections-based museum that serves many audiences and communities, including Washington state residents, tourists and visitors to Seattle, educators and students, Indigenous and Pacific communities, and researchers, scholars, and enthusiasts.
Burke volunteers bring the museum to life by contributing to ongoing research, interpretation and advocacy. Burke volunteers are passionate about the natural world, value diverse perspectives and nurture curiosity in our visitors.
