Mission Statement

The Victor Historical Society's purpose is to collect and preserve artifacts and documents relating to the history of the the Hamlet of Fishers, the Town of Victor, Ontario County, and Upstate New York. VHS strives to enhance the quality of life for these residents through education and historic preservation.

Description

The Victor Historical Society is comprised of the Valentown Museum, built in 1879 as a railroad depot and yes it is allegedly haunted.

The original building housed a blacksmith's shop, cobbler's shop, harness shop, school, bakery, meeting hall, and ballroom. It is filled with hundreds of Ontario County historic artifacts. The Ichabod Towne Homestead is the yellow house next door to Valentown and was built in the 1830's.
