Mission Statement

The purpose of our organization is to aid homeless and other disadvantaged families in obtaining and receiving assistance, education, training, financial stability, and self reliance, a place to call home, and to better their future and help ensure success. We encourage an increased level of employability through the promotion and access to, employment, education, and vocational training programs. We invite our families to redefine and sustain positive relationships with their families and extended families. This evokes respectful, moral and emotional support. LUHAD helps ensure that these families receive adequate health care through available resources that are often unknown. Our families are reminded that improved physical and mental well-being feels good, and is a great preventative treatment

Description

The families at LUHAD are provided in-house workshops with guest speakers to give expert financial information. They also experience the necessary skills of love and support for their children during this transitional time and beyond. These programs help build stronger bonds between the parents and their children. We propose each parent raise their children in a nurturing and loving environment. They are expected to be accountable for (and to) their children always. We direct our families to develop and maintain independent living skills and to improve their social skills, especially when confronted with past negative patterns. Individuals are provided support to help them deal with problems effectively. Through training there becomes a more immediate recognition of destructive behavior.
