Mission Statement

Our mission is to educate the public on responsible pet ownership, reunite owners with their lost pets, provide quality pets to the community and to reduce pet overpopulation by providing low-cost spay and neuter surgeries. The center also serves in the procurement of licenses in compliance with local and state laws and aids and promotes the prevention of cruelty to animals.

Description

The Animal Center is the countywide receiving facility for the housing of stray, quarantined, and unwanted domestic animals. Animals are brought into the center by citizens who have found strays, pet owners who no longer want their pets, Marion County Code Enforcement officers, Ocala City Animal Control officers and other city municipality animal control officers.
