Mission Statement

MissionTOTAL was founded in 1983 to address the needs of the working poor and homeless while simultaneously relieving local churches of the constant flow of requests for financial assistance. TOTAL provides rental assistance, mortgage assistance, heating assistance, prescription payments, clothing, food, and, on limited occasions, transportation assistance. All services are free to requestors. All requests are considered but not all requests can be met. TOTAL is dedicated to addressing needs as opposed to wants.

Description

TOTAL Ministries assists low-income families in Spartanburg County by preventing evictions and loss of utilities. We assist with food and clothes. We purchase some life-sustaining medicines. In 2005 we conducted 5000 interviews. Of those we assist with money, 87% are still stable after 90 days.

We have only one paid employee and our management/fundraising costs are 14% of our budget.
