Description

Squallis Puppeteers is a non-profit organization that uses the art of puppetry to free imaginations, to create unique characters and to tell the stories that are important to our community. We have two full time staff, Jess Myers and Nora Christensen, who conduct all educational, performance, and volunteer programming for the organization. We are available through artist rosters from the Kentucky Arts Council and the Kentucky Center. We teach workshops ranging from one-hour puppetry workshops to long-term residencies. We perform 3 touring shows for elementary aged audiences titled "Meet the Brers" (Pre K-5th), "Outside" (1st- 6th) and "Little Horse's Big Adventure" (Pre K-2nd). We work with schools, community centers, libraries, and in neighborhoods. Squallis Puppeteers also hosts a troupe of volunteers that produce Independent Series performances for all ages, created during our free Sunday Puppetry Arts Workshops, and perform in 8' giant backpack puppets in outdoor festivals and parades.
