To provide a safe environment for youth and their families to build strong, helathy realtionships that encourage and promote positive citizenship for our community.

Description

The Murphysboro Youth and Recreation Center plays several roles in the community. Obviously our impact with the youth is the strongest, best demonstrated by their free after-school program that serves many of the at-risk youth. The program provides free snack, recreation, life-skills and tutoring for the kids. The site hosts many events including karate classes, Free Bread Day, St.Patricks Day kids free fair, women's self defense classes, and much more.

We host many community events as well, emergency preparedness classes, town hall meetings against underage drinking, etc. Our dreams our big and volunteers will only help us expand the services we offer the community!
