Mission Statement

Maintain the Eagle Rock Reservation as close to the original design of the original architect Frederick Omstead. Preserve the natural beauty of the Reservation and minimize drainage and erosion problems. Maintain the ecosystem of the Reservation. Assist the County of Essex in promoting the 9/11 Memorial. Educate the public as to the importance of maintaining the Reservation and sponsor volunteer days to encourage volunteers to help keep the Reservation clean and free of debris.To preserve the wetlands within the Reservation according to the NJ Department of Environmenta Protection and the Environmental Protecion Agency.

Description

The group holds monthly meetings to decide on what projects need to be done. We work with the community to scheduel clean up days. We do trail restoration, bridge repair, tree removal, culvert cleaning, forest management, bird watching, taking inventory of animals that live in the Reservation, work with county employees on restoration projects, and many more activites to bring in young people and scouts to learn about their environment.
