The Mental Health Association of Orange County-Project Together a program that is funded through the Mental Health Services Act (CA. Description

Once screened, trained and matched volunteer mentors become a part of the youth's therapeutic treatment team and work with the therapist to develop non-clinical interventions to help the child reach a treatment goal, become independent and self-sufficient.

Mentors agree to spend a minimum of six months, 2-4 hours per week with the youth. The mentor will take the youth on outings into the community and expose them to new and different experiences as a way to expand the youth's world.
