Mission Statement

The Muscular Dystrophy Association's mission is to foster and promote the alleviation of the conditions of persons with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular disorders through support of basic and applied research seeking the causes of and effective treatments for these diseases. MDA believes the medical management and day-to-day well-being of those it serves are also vitally important and, accordingly, provides a broad range of patient and community services in tandem with its support of potentially lifesaving research.

Description

The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a voluntary health agency -- a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular diseases that affect more than a million Americans.

This organization gives you the opportuntity to see how a funding event is put together. I've been to two so far and it's has been great. Giving just a little bit of your time, is so rewarding knowing that a child can be save from muscular dystrophy. The only downfall is that I wish there were more volunteers than workers. Nonetheless, the workers of this organization were kind and welcoming. I'm ready for the next event!
