Mission Statement
WIADCA's mission is to promote, develop and celebrate West Indian culture, arts, history and traditions through year-round programs which culminate with a week-long display of festivities and a grand finale carnival parade expanding our cultural reach throughout the world.
Description
West Indian American Day Carnival Association continues to promote the many Caribbean cultural arts to under privileged youth and communities with low and moderate income. The programs and events are open to the general public but is largely attended by African American and Caribbean Americans. The organization offers year round programing such as the Carnival Costume Design Workshop as well as the pre-labor day concerts which includes Thursday night concert, Stay in School, Brass Fest, Junior Carnival, Steelband Panorama, Dimache Gras Celebration, the annual Labor Day Parade, WIADCA scholarship program etc.
