Description

Our guiding principles for research selection

CFRDF understands that research is a dynamic process. Science and technology are making exciting discoveries every day that will lead to cures for many diseases. With this is mind, CFRDF sponsors research that is/researchers that are:

Innovative and bold

The field of medical research is full of exciting possibilities. In just the last decade, fields such as neurology have made huge leaps in diagnosing and treating brain-related diseases. Additionally, science is only just starting to tap the potential of some of these treatments to cure hundreds of currently terminal diseases. These new discoveries will require creative and innovative thinkers to turn them into life-saving practices.

Credible

Through our working relationship with the University of Minnesota Foundation, we have contact with world class researchers and research projects (http://www.startribune.com/lifestyle/health/288484351.html). The University of MN is in the top 25 Universities for securing grants and funding. With its ability to secure grants through organizations like the National Institute of Health (NIH),researchers can leverage funding to make an even greater impact. While we do not limit our funding to the University of Minnesota, we believe the model of investing in credible research projects from reputable institutions is best practice.

Of potential benefit to multiple populations

Chloe’s Fight Rare Disease Foundation was created in memory of one little girl’s fight against one horrible disease-MLD. But our vision has expanded to find ways to fund projects that will further treatments for MLD as well as similar illnesses. We focus on research that is collaborative in nature in order to find answers for clsuters of diseases.
