Description
The Martin Luther King Health Center & Pharmacy (MLK Health), founded in 1986 by Dr. Robert H. Jackson, is a non-profit primary care health center and charitable pharmacy that provides services to patients who are uninsured or under-insured and who do not qualify for government sponsored insurance programs.
All services are free of charge & the center receives no funding from federal or state agencies to provide health care nor does it receive reimbursement from private or government sponsored insurance. Funding is secured primarily through foundations, grants and donations from individual donors.
Health care providers and pharmacists donate their time. The center provides services through partnerships, all of which must be patient-centered, provide for a continuum of integrated care, be collaborative, utilize best practices & evidence-based care, be efficient, be accountable and be sustainable.
